Summer Season at a Glance…

Requirement:

A player must have played in the Spring season to be eligible to play Summer. If you are interested in playing summer and did not play spring, please contact ENLL registration.

Season Dates:

The summer season commences the first week of July and will end no later then the end of August.

Sort Outs - Rookie, Minor, Major, Junior, Senior

Sortouts for the summer program are held at the discretion of the division director. Directors may use spring sortout scores and feedback from spring coaches to determine the proper balancing of teams, or they may opt to hold a sort out. The divisional Director will contact registered players in advance to let them know if a sort out is required.

Game Days /Locations

Divisions will generally have two games a week. These games are generally scheduled throughout the week. While some divisions may have set days during the week, if games are rescheduled due to weather or other circumstances, they can be scheduled on any day of the week. Due to the number of fields and games, ENLL can not guarantee game days.

The schedule is not available until late June, once we know the number of players registered, and we can assess the number of teams each division requires and number of ball diamonds/fields.

Games are played at diamonds in the Ottawa area.  Most divisional programs operate as interlock in the summer, meaning that the teams will play teams from various areas of Ottawa or the Ottawa Valley.

Volunteering – KEY – Please consider!

East Nepean Little League is a volunteer run organization.  Our teams are not able to operate without volunteer coaches, scorekeepers, game co-ordinators etc. Parents/Guardians, should anticipate having to help out where possible. If ENLL is not able to secure enough coaching/ team volunteers, then some teams will not be able to operate. We encourage you to get involved.

Helping to set-up a field, scorekeeping, coaching, and league convenors are all areas where we need help. Every little bit counts and enhances the experience for our children. It can be a little intimidating at the start – it was the same for all of us. If you are not sure how you can help, please ask. It is appreciated!

Refund Policy

As part of your registration process, you are required to accepted the ENLL refund policy.

SUMMER SEASON

Important Information, East Nepean Summer Season
Summer baseball is the second half of the East Nepean Baseball Season and runs in July and August. It is an opportunity for players to continue to play and develop but may also offer a chance to experience inter-league play across the city.

East Nepean runs a summer program for Rookie, Minor, Major, Junior, and Senior levels.

· Rookie: Canadian and National levels will be offered*
· Minor & Major: East Nepean will offer three levels of play; All-Star, Canadian and National*
· Junior: All-Star, Canadian and National levels will be offered*
· Senior: All- Star, Canadian, and National levels will be offered*

*Final levels offered are dependent on the number of registrations for the summer program in each division and as a result are subject to change if the registration numbers do not allow for some levels

Summer All-Star: Team selection processes are announced by the All-Star Coaches in Spring. Teams at this level will compete in the All-Star division of the D2/D6 summer interlock league and enter the Little League International Tournament. Additional weekend tournaments are generally added along with an intense practice schedule. This team is a tryout process and not all players who try out will be selected.

Canadian Level: ENLL enters 1-2 teams (registration dependent) in a redefined D2/D6 competitive Canadian Division. Teams will be selected through a skills evaluation process similar to Spring Sort-Outs, along with input from spring coaches. Teams will play a full D2/D6 interlock schedule against other competitive teams in the region. It is possible that these teams will enter several weekend tournaments and run a full practice schedule.

National Level: The National level will continue. Its key focus is player development and fostering a love of the game in an inclusive environment. Every attempt will be made to accommodate ALL registered players. Sort-outs will be used to ensure balanced teams are created. Equal play and development in a safe fun environment is the focus.
